Welcoming the 2013-14 Cohort

Over the past year we have engaged hundreds of congregational representatives and other experts in conversation about the future of synagogue life and community.  As we have worked to integrate various approaches and theories — community organizing, networks, digital communications, flattening hierarchies, millennials — many many people and congregations have joined the conversation to deepen our thinking, share their work and observations, challenge us, and co-create.

It is therefore a true delight to be at this stage, welcoming the first six congregations which will be immersing themselves in the Connected Congregations journey.  They represent creative, risk taking and forward thinking congregations, of various sizes, ages, denominations, stages of work in this area, and geographies.  We have been impressed by their leadership, honest, curiosity, and bold visions.

As we work together this year, expect to hear from these six pioneers — what they’re thinking about, what they’re trying, what’s working, as well as what’s not.

The six congregations in the pilot cohort are:
